Viking funeral

This week I said good bye to my friend Paramedic Pete Rosenblum. Pete was one of the original paramedics at Wayne General Hospital. I loved going to work then and it has never been the same since Wayne General was taken over by another hospital. We had the most amazing group of people in our paramedic family. Back then and even still today we were all know as the Black Sheep because our medic unit beat to its own drum. I loved working there and with all the fantastic paramedics. To this day we are still friends and Pete is the first Black Sheep to enter heaven. I'm so thankful I got to see him at the last Black Sheep night out in march. He look so fantastic and was really scared about having bypass surgery. Never would I dream he won't recover. Once again the Black Sheep came out in force, this time to bid farewell to one of our own. I was feeling so down this week and then was given the gift of remembering what wonderful old friends I have. When I walked up to the funeral home they were all standing outside. Not for an instant did I feel unwelcome or like an outsider. No I felt like I was home, among family. Our family has one less member, but he won't be forgotten. We are going to hold a Viking Funeral for Pete and celebrate his life! We will miss you Pete. I know you are up the on ALS 12 responding to cloud nine. RIP my friend.. you have done well.
